CONGRATULATIONS TO WTCC CHAMPION YVAN MULLER & SEAT SPORT

In the early hours of Sunday morning UK time, Yvan Muller clinched his first world title at the wheel of his SEAT Leon TDI WTCC. SEAT Sport closed the season in Macau with two world titles, 12 victories and 19 podium finishes. Gabriele Tarquini was runner-up of the world championship with his SEAT Leon TDI WTCC.

Fantastic result for SEAT Sport, brilliant to see the team succeed, all the hard work has finally paid off. The Leon TDI has been mega all year, just reinforces what a great shame it is not to have a SEAT works entry in the BTCC next year. :(

On a side note, not only is this a fantastic result for SEAT Sport, and drivers Yvan Muller and Gabrielle Tarquini.

It was also a brilliant final race of the season for our old friend ex-SEAT Sport Rob Huff. Huffy also finished this 2008 WTCC season 3rd overall in the championship, another excellent achievement that only goes to reinforce that Rob is a champion in waiting. Hope he has as much good fortune in the Chevy Cruze next year.

Aye it all went a bit pear shaped. One of the TDI's (Tarquini's I think) seemed quite smokey so wondering if it was dropping oil out the back.

Good to see Huffy gain the advantage though and win the race. Even if he does drive a Daewoo. :D

Nice work guys, a well deserved result.

I hope that SEAT will be prepared to defend the title. Spending on promoting a successful, eco-friendlyish yet gutsy and practical car (and brand) surely has to be worthwhile even in the current market. Sure people's spending power is sverely reduced but therefore it's even more important to keep a forward thinking, value for money brand in the public eye for when the recovery comes.

Here's hoping. :flag:

Farfus pushed Jimmy T into the wall and he dragged the Honda all the way to the line thinking it was the last lap, leaving fluids everywhere. Farfus went off on the fluid (there's Karma for you!), lost a wheel, Gabriele hit the wheel and damaged his car, hence the smoke.

Tomo just about crossed the control line waved then climbed the pit wall.
The photo is out of the control tower window, he could of stoped where he was as he had completed 75% so he was classified as a finisher.
